Why meanings can differ by model

Viking reuses the same codes across many appliances and generations, so an “E” code on a dishwasher may not mean the same thing on a washer or oven. Use the appliance filter to find the guide that matches your machine.

Where to find your model number

The full model number is usually on a rating label — inside the door frame, around the opening, or on a side panel. Recording it helps a technician interpret the code correctly and bring the right parts.

When to stop troubleshooting

Stop immediately and contact a professional if you notice smoke, a burning smell, gas odor, sparks, or water near electrical parts. Never work on live electrical systems, gas connections, or sealed refrigerant systems.
